Sam Houston Clinton Papers 1954-1968

Clinton was a prominent labor lawyer in the 1950’s and 1960’s in Texas. He graduated from Baylor University Law School in 1949. He started practicing law in 1950 in Waco, Texas, then became a field attorney for the National Labor Relations Board. During the early 1950’s he worked for the Mullinax, Wells law firm in Dallas and Austin until 1956 when he established a private law firm in Austin practicing general and labor law. The Sam Houston Clinton Papers are comprised of correspondence, legal documents, financial documents, newspaper clippings, and printed material. The papers deal exclusively with labor law cases that Clinton’s law firm handled.
